The first part of the house - that surrounding the front door and going back one room deep - was built around 1780: a two-up, two-down house with apparently a small back kitchen. The substantial wing to the right was built about 1805, and the original house has been extended backwards over the years. A coach house was added in the 19th century, and this was converted in about 1965 to a garage and work rooms. In the early 1990's the latter was further altered by adding a further 2-storey extension. In 2005/6 the house was substantially amended and divided into 3,
